Description / Synopsis
An established Firm based in Illovo, Johannesburg, is seeking a Junior Accountant. This is an ideal opportunity for a young, ambitious individual looking to build a solid foundation in accounting. You will receive hands-on experience with diverse financial tasks, including accounts up to trial balance, reconciliations, and the preparation of audit files. You can expect strong mentorship, meaningful exposure to a dynamic business environment, and direct contribution to monthly and year-end financial processes. Previous experience within the manufacturing industry is beneficial but not essential—your willingness to learn and passion for accuracy are what set you apart.

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom Accounting degree or similar qualification
• Sage Evolution experience is essential
• Knowledge of Xero/Odoo (advantageous) and advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of the manufacturing industry advantageous
• Experience with accounting up to trial balance
• Experience with reconciliations and audit file preparation
• Knowledge of financial statements and reporting
• Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Experience with stock/inventory
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
• Conduct reconciliations and assist in audit file preparation
• Utilise Sage Evolution for daily accounting functions
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Collaborate with senior team members to ensure financial operations run smoothly

• Apart from the accounting function, the successful candidate will play an important role in the implementation of a new accounting system across the business
