Description / Synopsis
An international company based in Rosebank is seeking a Group Accountant on a 6-month contract basis. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial transaction processing and operational control across sales, intercompany activities, inventory, manufacturing, and procurement for their Group/Shared Services division. This role is suited for a finance professional with exposure to multi-entity accounting, preferably in a multinational environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- SAIPA/SAICA Articles advantageous
- 3–5 years of accounting experience in a shared services or group environment
- Experience in manufacturing, inventory, or shared services environments is preferred
- Experience dealing with African entities or subsidiaries
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems (Syspro/Sage Evolution advantageous)
- Must be able to start immediately
Responsibilities
- Capture and verify sales invoices and export documentation
- Prepare reconciliations of sales orders, delivery notes, and invoices
- Process daily and weekly sales and operational reports for management
- Record and maintain inventory transactions, including GRNs and production entries
- Support and assist with regular inventory counts and reconciliations
- Raise and review purchase orders in line with procurement policies
- Ensure procurement transactions are compliantly processed and authorised
- Post journals, including payroll, depreciation, and operational adjustments
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation for financial entries
- Assist with intercompany, VAT, WHT, payroll, and other reconciliations
- Support the month-end close and reporting process
- Prepare and maintain schedules for key balance sheet accounts
- Help ensure readiness for internal and external audits
- Uphold high standards of financial accuracy, control, and documentation
- Identify, escalate and help address control weaknesses
