Description/Synopsis:

A leader in the financial services sector is looking for a Snr IT Technician to join their team. The role will oversee the management of IT infrastructure, systems security, and user support across the business. The successful candidate will ensure business continuity, lead IT projects, and implement IT strategy, policies, and governance while maintaining strong relationships with service providers.

Minimum Requirements:

• IT Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Degree in IT (MCSA/MCSE, ITIL, CCNA, Microsoft 365/Azure certifications an advantage).
• 10+ years’ experience as Senior IT Technical Specialist / Network / Systems Administrator.
• 5+ years’ Microsoft 365 administration.
• 5+ years’ network infrastructure setup, VLAN & wireless configuration.
• 5+ years’ Cisco Meraki & Mikrotik firewall administration.
• 5+ years’ Mimecast email security administration.
• 2+ years’ leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server, VMWare, Hyper-V, Cloud, IT Security, VOIP, DNS/DHCP, and backups.

Main Responsibilities:

• Implement and execute the IT Strategy in line with company goals.
• Manage IT infrastructure, systems, and data security (including DR and backups).
• Oversee hardware, software, VOIP, and network performance.
• Ensure IT support tickets are resolved promptly and users are kept updated.
• Monitor IT systems, identify risks, and implement preventative measures.
• Maintain IT policies, compliance (POPIA), and risk registers.
• Manage IT budgets, expenses, and supplier relationships.
• Drive innovation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with IT regulations and internal policies.
