Description / Synopsis:

A leading multinational in the manufacturing sector is seeking a highly capable Manufacturing Finance Manager / Financial Controller to support the build and rollout of a major new plant, based in Uganda, with additional operations in Tanzania. This role blends manufacturing finance, data ownership, systems development, and hands?on accounting oversight. Based in Johannesburg, the position offers significant regional exposure and a clear succession path into a future Regional Head role.

Minimum Requirements:

• CIMA, CA(SA), or equivalent management accounting qualification.

• Strong manufacturing finance or factory?based management accounting experience.
• Proven ability to analyse production flows, yields, wastage, and cost drivers.
• Strong systems orientation with SQL/BI/ERP exposure.
• Experience implementing or optimising ERP systems (advantage).
• Solid accounting foundation with balance sheet review experience.
• Prior Africa experience strongly preferred (East Africa ideal).
• Willingness to travel frequently into Uganda and Tanzania.
• Hands?on, detail?driven approach with strong problem?solving ability.

Responsibilities:

• Own manufacturing and operational data, analysing production flows, yields, wastage, and cost drivers.
• Oversee accounting processes for Uganda and Tanzania, ensuring strong controls and timely reconciliations.
• Provide management accounting insights and reporting to operations and senior leadership.
• Play a key role in designing and implementing a new ERP system over the next 18 months.
• Extract, analyse, and troubleshoot data (SQL/BI) to support decision?making.
• Build strong relationships with in?country teams through frequent travel and hands?on engagement.
• Support the regionalisation of finance structures and contribute to long?term succession planning.
