Description/Synopsis:

Our client is an established group in the agriculture sector is seeking a Junior Agronomist / Technical Sales professional to join their Potchefstroom team. This role is ideal for an agricultural graduate with strong knowledge of row crops—particularly maize, sunflowers, soybeans, and potatoes—and a passion for working directly with farmers. You will support product adoption, assist with trial management, and provide technical guidance to growers and internal sales teams. The position requires someone confident, organised, and eager to build a long-term career in agronomy and agricultural sales.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Agriculture or related field

• 1 – 2 years’ experience in an agri-related role/practical farming experience

• Solid understanding of farming and row crops (sunflowers, maize, potatoes, soy, etc.)

• Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel

• Valid driver’s licence essential

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Self-driven, responsible, and willing to travel and work overtime during peak seasons

Main Responsibilities:

As a Junior agronomist, you will assist with the following activities:

• Plan, coordinate and monitor crop trials for key row crops

• Oversee planting, crop care, data collection and trial analysis

• Participate in farmer days, demo plantings and promotional activities

• Provide technical support to farmers and assist sales managers during peak marketing periods

• Engage with growers to encourage product adoption and ensure successful outcomes

• Support fieldwork, travel requirements and seasonal demands as needed
