Description/Synopsis:
This leader in Renewable Energy is seeking a highly driven Sales Executive – Renewable Energy Solutions to lead the expansion of its Virtual Power and Wheeling offerings to commercial and industrial (C&I) clients. This exciting role combines sales expertise with a deep understanding of the South African electricity market, regulatory frameworks, and energy trading models. The ideal candidate will have the ability to identify opportunities, structure complex agreements, and build long-term partnerships that accelerate the transition to cleaner, smarter energy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in energy sales, renewable energy, or related infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record of closing high-value energy deals (wheeling or PPA sales advantageous).
- Strong understanding of South Africa’s energy market, regulatory environment, and wheeling mechanisms.
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and MS Projects.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Main Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities for wheeling and large-scale energy supply agreements.
- Engage key stakeholders including corporate clients, municipalities, Eskom, and regulatory bodies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to promote the company’s Virtual Power solutions.
- Develop tailored proposals and presentations based on client needs and financial goals.
- Negotiate and close complex supply agreements ensuring profitability and long-term value.
- Collaborate with technical, finance, and legal teams to ensure compliance and feasibility.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activity to shape strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, reports, and pipeline updates to management.
- Support solution design for virtual PPA, aggregation, and energy trading propositions.
